Owner & Founder, Yancey Richardson Gallery
Yancey Richardson opened her eponymous gallery in 1995 to exhibit critically recognized emerging photographers and influential established mid-career artists. Since then, she has curated over 80 group and solo exhibitions and has participated in more than 30 art fairs, including the Armory Show - Modern, the AIPAD Photography Show, Pulse and Paris Photo. Richardson served as vice president of the Association of International Photography Art Dealers (AIPAD) for 12 years and has been an active supporter of organizations such as the Public Art Fund, the Kitchen and the International Center of Photography. She is a member of the Art Dealers Association of America (ADAA) and in 2006 the Aperture Foundation honored her for her contribution to the field of photography at its annual benefit and auction. Richardson received a M.A in art history from Southern Methodist University and was awarded the Helena Rubinstein Fellowship in Curatorial and Critical Studies at the Whitney Museum of American Art in 1979.
